The Power of Gemstones on Your Chakras
Have you ever wondered why people wear gemstones? For some, it may be purely aesthetic. But for others, there may be a deeper meaning. Gemstones have been used for centuries for their healing properties. Each gemstone is said to correspond with a different chakra or energy center in the body. When these chakras are balanced, we feel more aligned, centered, and at peace.
There are seven main chakras in the body: Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye, and Crown. Let’s take a look at each one and see which gemstone corresponds with it.
Root Chakra (Muladhara): The Root Chakra is located at the base of the spine. It is associated with the element of earth and stability. The Root Chakra is all about grounding and feeling safe. When this chakra is out of balance, we may feel anxious or fearful. The color associated with the Root Chakra is red and black. The gemstones that correspond with this chakra include Red Jade, Garnet, Onyx, and Black Agate.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): The Sacral Chakra is located just below the navel. It is associated with the element of water and flow. The Sacral Chakra is all about emotion, pleasure, and creativity. When this chakra is out of balance, we may feel emotionally unstable or creatively blocked. The color associated with the Sacral Chakra is orange. The gemstones that correspond with this chakra include Carnelian and Tiger Eye.
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): The Solar Plexus Chakra is located above the navel and below the breastbone. It is associated with the element of fire and power. The Solar Plexus Chakra is all about personal power and will. When this chakra is out of balance, we may feel powerless or like a victim of our circumstances. The color associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra is yellow. The gemstone that corresponds with this chakra is Citrine.
Heart Chakra (Anahata): The Heart Chakra is located in the center of the chest near the heart. It is associated with the element of air and love. The Heart Chakras are all about love—both giving and receiving it—and compassion. When this chakra is out of balance, we may feel unloved or unworthy of love. The color associated with Heart Chakras is green. The gemstones that correspond to this charka include Green Jade, Moss Agate, Green Tiger Eye, and Emerald.
Throat Charka(Visuddhi): Throat Chakras located in the throat. It is associated with communication. Throat Chakras are about self-expression, truthfulness, and outspokenness. When these Chakras are unbalanced our feelings seem muted, unheard, or frustrated. The color associated with the Throat Chakra is blue. Lapis Lazuli correspond to this chakra.
By wearing gemstones that correspond with our chakras, we can help bring them into balance and achieve a greater sense of well-being overall—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
