Melissa Boatwright - Compassion Is…

Melissa was one of the first broadcast journalists I had the pleasure of supervising. I knew instantly she was waaaay to talented for what she was currently doing. She was also the first person to babysit my baby girl. I suppose I have always trusted her. She has since received a commission in the Air Force Reserves as a Public Affairs Officer and currently works for LinkedIn. More importantly to me at least...she too is a yoga instructor. She works with Veterans...and MOST importantly to me...she ALWAYS helps me with just about anything I ask. THANK YOU, MELISSA! YOU'RE THE BEST! _()_Namaste Chris
For me, compassion is: Not forcing people to apologize for who they are but recognizing that goodness and darkness live in each of us. All of us have times of great heart, lightness, brilliance, and abundant goodness. Conversely, we each travel through sorrow, hopelessness, rage, and utter darkness. Acknowledging the darkness and letting it pass loosens its grip on us. It does not define us or others. Compassion is empathizing with others while they are celebrating goodness or traversing the darkness.
